It just makes me feel bad for the poor lil guy. Hopefully the Mac Geniuses can fix it up. I've had it for 4 years. Quite a trooper.

sad face
I am sad my pre-color click wheel ipod has finally kicked the bucket, but I would be a lot more sad about it if it didn't have this awesome sad-face icon when died:

Dear Smokers of New York,
I really don't care whether you smoke or not, but could you please stop smoking ON me while I walk down the street?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Frank the Fish says "Don't Waste Water."
Growing up on a farm in a high mountain desert that was almost always in drought conditions has made me sensitive about water usage. Today in the ladies room at work there was a woman brushing her teeth with the water running full blast and it was driving me CRAZY. She is older than me and I felt should have known already that you aren't supposed to leave the water on, especially In this day and age when everyone is trying to "be green" and not use all of the earth's resources. I feel like there is a real shortage of people telling us not to waste water. Sadly for a few of my poor roommates, I have taken this job upon myself. Not that I am a model pupil of not wasting water, I think I deserve two showers a day for living in the grossest city in the world, but I did learn at 5 years of age not to leave the water running while brushing my teeth. I've been surprised that NONE of my roommates whom I've actually asked to stop using so much water remember this little clip from Sesame Street. It has had a big impact on my life. I doubt that woman in the bathroom remembers it either. I wasn't brave enough to confront her about it. Please remember Frank the Fish:

I live on top of the world, if the world was a subway map.
Thursday I was feeling VERY lucky and I WON the lottery to see In The Heights the musical (if you don't know, the lottery means I go at 5:30, write my name on a slip of paper and put it in a bucket, some girl draws names and like ten people win. I was VERY happy to have been called). Holly and I live in Washington Heights so it was extra fun. We were on the front row right behind the conductor, who talked to us a couple of times (but did not block our view). The stage looked exactly like we were looking out Holly's window at the George Washington Bridge. The music was amazing. The dancing was amazing. The set was great. Everyone has seen that bodega and unisex salon before. I loved being SO CLOSE and seeing the face of Lin-Manuel Miranda (who wrote and stars in the show) and I believed it was real. If you get the chance, GO SEE THIS SHOW! I love musicals and I would say this is probably the best I've seen (It DID win the Tony for Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography, and Best Orchestrations this year). Best $26.50 I'VE ever spent! Thanks lottery for scoring me such great seats!

Parker family came to visit
July 19-21 my Uncle Don, Aunt Pat and their family came to visit NYC and let me join in on their adventures I got to do some fun things I'd not done yet in New York:

Went to Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center). It was really cool and no line to get up there. Don has superb bartering skills, he managed to get a discount on tickets purchased at the booth. And I know I am really short in comparison to their family.

Saw my first Yankees game! It was really fun. We saw three home runs and one broken bat. Quite a game. The Yankees won of course. It is the last year the Yankees are playing "In the House that Ruth Built" so I'm glad I got to see them play. A great thing about the stadium was I could see the sky and there was lots of grass. I hadn't seen that much sky in a long time.
