79-72

I have blogged before about my fantasy football dreams being smashed when Tom Brady tore the anterior cruciate ligaments in his knee. Since then my brother has been helping me get my team into better shape, which is nice of him since the reason I am on the league anyway is to beat him because he said he would never play fantasy football again if I did. Well, let it be known that today my team beat his team. Yes, here is the score, 79-72, and my top scorer is the Bears defense, which I chose myself in the first draft. He did not influence that decision. He says for him to stop playing fantasy football I have to beat him for the whole season. Too bad I gave up 7.5 minutes into the first game. But I'm proud my little team beat him today. Feel free to view my smack card.

When I looked at my Google Reader and this was the first image I saw, I knew today would end up being a good day.

ipod defibrillator

My ipod has been healed! A few months ago it got the sad face and died. I looked on apple.com and talked to a Mac Genius and was afraid it had gone for good. My brother had someone fix his ipod for him, so I gave him mine to take in, but asked him to charge it first. Apparently, my brother, the ipod miracle worker, charged it in his speakers for a long time and when he came back it no longer had the sad face, it said "charged." So he tried to play music, but all the music was gone. So he decided to plug it into his computer to add some songs to see if it would work and it wouldn't bring up itunes or anything so he just unplugged it without ejecting it properly and it froze his computer. So he rebooted and somehow, magically, my ipod has been restored to working order. The music is back. I believe it was the change to a different platform. Somehow, the difference of using a PC when my ipod was used to a Mac put it back to life. My brother is an ipod defibrillator. I'm very glad. I didn't want to get a new fangled fancy ipod. I like my black and white screen. Music capability only. I hope it lasts for much longer.

I'm goin' surfin' 'cause I don't like your face!

My
brother already posted about this, but this Tuesday I was watching the Weezer Pork and Beans video on YouTube and thought they would be fun to see live and figured out they were playing in Salt Lake on that very day. So we went. Whose high school life wasn't defined by Weezer? I particularly remember always singing My Name is Jonas on our way home frome skiing. We could ski no longer, because "the workers are going home". The show was fun. I thought I should go at least once. The thing I really loved about Weezer was how completely dorky they are, but they embrace it and thus are cool. Or at least real. The band before them were trying to hard to be cool they weren't. They were just annoying. So Weezer teaches the lesson that you can like whatever you like and still be cool. I also think they have a genius branding system. No need to name an album when they are color coded. The new Weezer shirts are red (of course) AND the word weezer glows in the dark! Plus, seriously, any song that can fit the two phrases "I don't give a hoot" and "I'm fine and dandy" in the same song are doing pretty well.

TOWELBAMA

This post is not related to how I will vote in November, but something I do particularly think is awesome is the "crafty revolution" following the presidential election. This weekend I was with Amy Middleton and Jo Thomas and somehow "Towelbama" came into being. Amy thought of it, I made the pattern and Jo embroidered him. So, we present to the world, Towelbama. You can purchase it here.
