I don't know how many other people subscribe to the Dunder Mifflin Monthy Newsletter, but I do, and I get a big kick out of it every time. Never disappointed. It is funnier than the show has been lately. Especially when Angela posts pictures like this:
How could I not put that on my own blog?!!! I realize it is not a real newsletter and it is not about real people, but I am pretty jealous of whoever's job it is to google kitten pictures for a fake newsletter.
I started a new blog for my graphic design stuff. I realized I would never make an actual portfolio website and I am particularly fond of blogs. Hopefully I will have a lot of freelance jobs and will be posting on it often. Here is the address: http://ashleymackaydesign.blogspot.com/
I spent a ridiculous amount of time today figuring out how to customize it the way I wanted it. I tried quite a few different things. A big thanks to Sam Lambson for writing an entire blog post just for me to answer my question about how to make images appear bigger on my blog. If you are interested, you can see his post here. I also found a place that shows how to make your own backgrounds here. Maybe everyone else already knows how to do all that stuff. I do now too. I also need to say thanks to Amy Middleton for putting up with my gchat questions all day. Google did not help me out as much as I have come to expect it to.
Sometimes when I download pdfs from the internet they have little boxes instead of the actual words they are supposed to have. Is it just because I use a mac? Is there something I can do to fix this issue? Does anyone know?
I recently moved to Salt Lake and have a fun big room that I work/sleep/live in. I have a desk and an appropriate place to work, but for some reason I put my scanner on the bottom of my bookshelf and scan things from the floor instead of moving it onto my desk. One day I did have it on my lap when I was scanning a lot of things, but that still isn't the appropriate way to use a scanner. I suppose I should get a new table just for the scanner, I just haven't yet. I really like working from home.
I know everyone makes blankets out of their old t-shirts but I finally finished mine and I'm super proud of it so I'm going to post it. My mom just helped me bind it last week so I could put it in the Porter's Quilt Show and get a $10 gift certificate. I know. Thanks Mom! I made it with my t-shirts and pants from high school. I actually was wearing most of the pants and some of the shirts up until I decided to cut them up. It was a good thing though. It was time for them to go. I am just a pack rat, sentimental, and I like making things so making new things out of my old stuff is a great idea for me.
This is the front of the blanket, hence the front of the shirts...
back of the blanket, back of the shirts.
I was speedily working on a project earlier today with Cole and I just barely looked down at some notes I took while I was talking to him on the phone. All they say arecut off headfade girl to blackyikes! Out of context that is a really creepy thing to write.
